Laser Hair Removal

What is Excel HR?

Excel HR is a premium laser specifically designed to permanently remove unwanted hair on the face and body. Excel HR is for women and men of all skin types!

How many treatments will I need?

The total number of treatments varies based on the area treated. Typically, an average of 6-10 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart are recommended.

Why are multiple treatments required?

Laser hair removal requires multiple treatments because our hair grows in 3 different phases — the growth stage, the transitional stage, and the shedding stage. The hair needs to be in the growth stage in order to achieve permanent removal, therefore requiring several treatments, an average of six weeks apart, to catch all of the hairs in the active growth stage.

Am I a candidate?

Due to Excel HR’s superior technology and treatment safety, results are achievable on all skin types! Lasers are designed to target pigment, therefore hairs lacking pigment such as blonde, red, gray and white, are not able to be permanently removed. Commonly treated areas include face, underarms, legs, bikini area, chest, and back.

What does it feel like?

Most patients report that laser hair removal feels like a rubber band snapping the skin. To increase patient comfort and safety, Excel HR offers continuous cooling before, during, and after each pulse. In a comparative study, 100% of patients found Excel HR to be more comfortable than a competitors’ laser hair removal procedure.

What can I expect after treatment?

Following your treatment, you should apply sunscreen to the treated area(s) and refrain from excessive sun exposure. Some patients experience redness and perifollicular edema post treatment, though these symptoms typically resolve within a few hours they can, in some cases, last a few days. Avoiding skin irritants is also recommended – this includes products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, and astringents. The hair may take up to 2 weeks to fall out post treatment.

What should I do to prepare for my first treatment?

Your hair should be cleanly shaven. No sun-tanning or self tanners 4 weeks prior to treatment (this includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc). NO WAXING, PLUCKING/TWEEZING at least 4 WEEKS prior to treatment. Some medications or supplements may increase the risk of bruising and/or adverse side effects. To ensure we give you the best experience possible, we require a consultation prior to scheduling treatment.
